Cost Distance Analysis

Cost distance analysis, or cost path analysis, in the spatial analysis and geographic information systems field, is a method of determining one or more optimal travel routes through unconstrained (raster mode) or constrained (vector mode) spaces. A cost (weight) is associated with each cell or each network entity.
